About the library
The SDP CTE Library is worked as a knowledge hub of this esteem institute by fulfilling the knowledge requirement of its user through its different services. It extends its facilities to about 300+ regular members. Annually, on an average about 100- 150 visitors also avail the facilities of the Library. Its annual transaction of documents is around 1 thousand.

General Rules:
- Silence should be maintained in the library. Every one shall ensure that no reader should feel disturbed in their study by any act of his/her. User can utilize reading hall for individual study and research only.
- Mobile phone or any other electronic gadgets should be in silence mode while in the library.
- Do not replace Books, journals, etc. taken from the shelves for reading. Items should be left on the tables only after use because self-replacing may cause misplacement of document.
- Chairs and tables and other library equipment, fittings and furniture may not be marked, defaced or disarranged.
- Loss or damage of Library Membership Card is an offence so keep your Library Membership Card with utmost care. In case of lost user must be reported the loss in writing to the librarian immediately.
- For any loss or damage of the personal belongings of the users within library, the library shall not be responsible.
- The Library staff on duty has the right to request a user to leave the premises if he/she is found to be violating any of the Library rules.
Rules to follow before entering the Library:
- Borrowing of books from the library is restricted to the registered members only; guest visitors are also welcome with a proper prior permission.
- A library card is issued to each registered member, which is not transferable in any sense.
- Preservation of the library materials are one of our outmost priority hence no food or drink items are allowed in the library except water because food item may attract insects.
- Any kinds of bags or other materials are not allowed in the library in any situation. User can only bring reading materials of any kind inside the library premises.
- It is mandatory to sign the gate register available at the library entrance while entering and leaving the library.
Rules for Circulation:
- Library card is mandatory for issuing any kind of issuable document; also proxy issue of document is strictly restricted.
- Certain documents are intended to be used only in the library premises not for circulation. These include reference books, periodicals, newspapers etc.
- When Books are issued, students should check the pages of the issued books and if pages are found missing or damaged in any sense, they should report the same to the Library in-charge before leaving the Counter. On returning the books, if pages are found missing or damaged, then the last borrower of the book shall be held accountable for the damages and shall accordingly be fined.
- While leaving the library, user should ensure that they carry only those books that are duly issued on their names. Show the books and other materials which are being taken out of the library to the staff at duty, otherwise disciplinary action will be taken.
- The members caught stealing books or otherwise mutilating books will be suspended forthwith from using library facilities and further disciplinary action will be initiated against him/her by the Institute.
- Borrowing privileges may be suspended or revoked by the Librarian for violation of existing rules and regulations.
